Itinerary:

Day 1: Kochi
On arrival at Kochi International Airport/Railway Station, you will be welcomed by an Argo Tours representative and check into a hotel by car. After relaxing for sometime start off for a city tour of Cochin.

  • Visit the Mattancherry Dutch Palace - (closed on Fridays and Public holidays), which was built by the Portuguese in 1555 and renovated by the Dutch in 1663. Insides of the palace are adorned with 17th century murals that relate in vibrant color the story of the epic Ramayana
  • Visit a Jewish Synagogue - (closed on all Saturdays and Jewish holidays) in Jew Town and Fort Kochi area. Legend dates Jewish trade with Kerala from the times of King Solomon. There are a couple of streets of picture-postcard Dutch and traditional Kerala style houses built during 17th century
  • Visit St. Francis Church - (closed for visitors on Sundays from 8.00 to 11.00 hrs) the oldest European Church in India. It has several antiquities including a wealth of records. These include a palm-leaf title deed; the local Raja gave the Portuguese in 1503
  • See the Chinese fishing nets at Fort Kochi unique to this part of Kerala and the legacy of Chinese influence on this coast

Overnight stay: Hotel Abad Atrium or similar.

Day 2: Kochi - Munnar
Breakfast at hotel. Start for Munnar by road, which is 127 kms/four hours. Arrive and transfer to hotel. Lush green-carpeted tea and coffee plantations surround Munnar. Munnar is a picturesque hill station situated in the eastern part of Kerala. The beautiful landscapes, cozy weather, and the smell of tea leafs make Munnar one of the most sought-after destinations in South India. Munnar is situated near the Anamudi Peak, the highest peak in the Western Ghats. Overnight stay: Tall Trees or similar.

Day 3: Munnar
Breakfast at hotel. Visit Pothamedu - known for its tea, coffee, cardamom plantations apart from trekking and hiking options amidst sylvan surroundings. Other places of interests are:

  • Devikulam - an idyllic hill station near Munnar
  • Pallivasal - home to the first hydropower project in Kerala
  • Attukad has several panoramic waterfalls and offers trekking options too
  • Nyayamakad is another well-known picnic spot around Munnar
  • Mattupetty has an artificial lake built as part of a small hydroelectric project
  • Rajamala is known as the natural habitat of the endangered Nilgiri Tahr
  • Chithirapuram is a small hill station that was once the favorite of the British during their rule in India
  • Echo Point is known for the natural echo effect it produces

Overnight stay: Tall Trees or similar.

Day 4: Munnar - Periyar
Breakfast at hotel. Start for Periyar by road, which is 124 kms / four hours approx. On arrival at Periyar and check into a hotel. Periyar is one of the major destinations of Kerala, the God's own country. The place houses one of world’s most fascinating natural wildlife sanctuaries. Periyar is also the major base point to access some of the other exotic sites in Kerala as well as in Tamilnadu. A visit to Periyar also provides you the opportunity to see wildlife at close quarters, besides the varied flora and fauna. Lying at an altitude of 700-1900 m above sea level, Periyar has a cool and pleasant climate. You can also go trekking and mountain walking. Another attraction here is the spice plantation. Overnight stay: Cardamom County or similar.

Day 5: Periyar - Kumarakom
Boat rides on Lake Periyar (additional cost). The Periyar Park is spread around 26 sq. kms. Take a boat ride on the lake to view wild life and water birds. Herds of Elephants and Bison could be seen at the banks of the lake. Spotted Deer and Sambhar are also found here. Return to hotel, after breakfast, checkout and start for Kumarakom by road, which is only three and a half hours. Arrive and check into a hotel and spend rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay: Whispering Palms or similar.

Day 6: Kumarakom
Breakfast at hotel. Sunset cruise on backwater for two hours. Overnight stay: Whispering Palms or similar.

Day 7: Kumarakom - Kochi
Breakfast at hotel. Depart for Kochi by road, which is 90 kms or one and a half hours drive. Argo representative would escort you to the airport / railway station for your connect flight/train for onward journey.

End of Tour

Inclusions:

  • 6 nights - 7 days accommodation
  • Transfers & sightseeing in a non a/c small car as per the itinerary
  • All luxury taxes at hotels are as on date. Any future levies will be charged extra

  • Entrance and guide’s fees as and where applicable
  • Air/Train fare
  • All incidental expenses - i.e. drinks, laundry, tips & gratuity, etc.

Terms and Conditions:
All the tourists will be provided transportation in air-conditioned and non air-conditioned car/coach as mentioned in the itinerary. The transportation facility provided will only run as per the itinerary and any deviation resulting in extra kilometers will be charged on actual basis. We may have to alter the routing of the package, which usually is because of the non-availability of hotels. We will however do our best to adhere to the same format / hotels in the itinerary, and the timings.
